Altan Tsagaan Ovoo (ATO) Project is a traditional open-pit, truck-and-shovel, heap leach operation located in the Dornod Province of eastern Mongolia, approximately 660 km east of Ulaanbaatar.

Production at the ATO mine commenced in 2020, initially focusing on the extraction of near-surface oxide ore (Phase 1 Oxide). The ATO Mine boasts substantial mineral reserves capable of supporting production through 2036. Steppe Gold is currently advancing its Phase 2 Expansion, which is slated for completion by mid-2026. This expansion aims to target an annual average production of 90,000 ounces of gold equivalent by transitioning to processing fresh rock ores.

The ATO Mine site is equipped with comprehensive infrastructure, including an open-pit mine, employee camp and residence, warehouses, maintenance shops, and offices, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Boroo acquired a majority stake in Steppe Gold Ltd. (TSX: STGO) through an all-share transaction completed in August 2024, integrating all of its Mongolian operations (Boroo and Ulaanbulag mines) with Steppe Gold. For further information, please visit Steppe Gold's website.
