Boroo Gold is a traditional open-pit truck-and-shovel operation located in the Selenge Province, north-central Mongolia approximately 110 km northwest of the capital city of Ulaanbaatar. The mine has been in production since December 2003 and up until October 2018, the mine was operated by Centerra Gold Inc, and has produced over 1.9 Moz of gold to date.
Processing facilities include Mill plant, an annual throughput of 2.0 million tonnes, with carbon-in-leach (CIL) process and Heap Leach plant, an annual throughput of 2.9 million tonnes, with carbon-in-column (CIC) process. Mill plant includes crushing, grinding, classification, gravity recovery and intensive cyanidation circuits, electrowinning of the gravity pregnant eluate and tailings detoxification circuits.
